Founder & Executive Producer
Bob Denham is a filmmaker with a First Class Degree in Economics and Econometrics and a background in journalism, banking and education. Bob founded Econ Films in 2014 to provide a way for researchers to communicate in the growing area of online video. Since then, he has produced hundreds of films and videos across many disciplines to international media coverage and praise. Bob is also co-founder of Communicating Economics – a joint project with the IFS and the University of Manchester providing tools, tips and training for economists, for free.
Wyn is a senior producer and director with an extensive background in current affairs, business, politics, youth programming and social history. Wyn has made documentaries and factual programmes for the BBC, The Africa Channel and The Economist.
Head of Production
Emma is a producer and production manager specialising in working with non-profit and educational organisations around the world. Emma is responsible for delivering Econ Films projects on time, on budget and to the agreed scope and objectives. As a former Country Director for BBC Media Action in North Africa, Emma has led large-scale film and media projects in Tunisia, Palestine, Bangladesh, Europe and the UK.
Director of Photography
Jon is a cinematographer and television lighting cameraman with extensive professional experience. His credits include work for many major international broadcasters including the BBC, Channel 4 & Bloomberg, on dramas, commercials, promos, documentaries, and films about economics!
Head of Development
Paul Lancaster has worked in media and production for over 15 years, including roles at Channel 4 and Film London and nearly ten years leading on video and content partnerships at The Guardian. This has involved working with a range of organisations from The Department of Health and The British Red Cross to Amazon, HBO and IBM. Paul is responsible for working closely with our clients to ensure we deliver fully on their objectives, from project design to delivery, and helping them tell their stories to a wider audience.
Simon Vaughan is an Editor, Animator and Videographer who has worked in a wide range of video production, from feature films to advertising. Simon worked with Saatchi & Saatchi for seven years, creating content for some of the worlds largest brands including Proctor & Gamble, GSK and HSBC. Simon has managed the post-production of over a hundred films about economic research and interviews with dozens of Nobel Laureates.
Eliza has a background in documentary production and educational news, previously working for the producer of BBC’s Life of Birds. She is responsible for coordinating projects and shoots ensuring they run on schedule and to budget.
